About
The Lutheran Heritage Village is owned by Martin Luther Memorial Homes, Inc., which was founded in 1957. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing 'Christian care for the aging' in a financially sound manner, and have been a leader in providing this Christian care for over 40 years. Martin Luther Memorial Homes, Inc., is part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod congregations. They were founded in 1850 and now has over 1200 congregations worldwide.
Martin Luther Memorial Homes has operated skilled nursing facilities for the aging in Michigan since it's inception, and has run independent living facilities for seniors since 1999. Work began on the Lutheran Heritage Village in 2003. These facilities all provide the same high standard of loving, respectful care for the elderly. Although Martin Luther Memorial Homes, Inc is a Lutheran organization, members of all Christian faiths are welcome at our facilities. Our Christian ethos is evident in the committed care given to our residents' needs; from physical, such as meals and home cleaning services, to spiritual; with chapels and regular services at our facilities.
There are many Bible passages where God tells us that it is right to lovingly care for our elders, such as:
"However many years a man may live, let him enjoy them all." Ecc 11:8
"Do not cast me away when I am old. Do not forsake me when my strength is gone." Psalm 71:9
"Rise in the presence of the aged and show respect for the elderly." Leviticus 19:32
"Listen to your father, who gave you life; and do not despise your mother when she is old." Proverbs 23:22
These passages teach us how important it is to care lovingly and respectfully for the aging, and Martin Luther Memorial Homes, Inc serves the community by providing a secure environment of Christian care to those seeking our services.
